How much longer do you guys think the ice will hold up? It is gonna rain this week and night temps are gonna rise above 32 for a couple days in a row.
I know the ice is about 8in now but do you think the ice will still be good on most ponds by the weekend and if so how much will be left?

It isn't looking good at all.  Looking at 3 inches of rain and warm temps.  Not good!

One of the mass guys said he was at a pond that had 6 inches and he could kick through 3.  I was optimistic some places could hold up for a while until I heard that.  I'm not as concerned with Pike as most are though - so I still think fishing for another couple weeks at different spots is realistic.

I'd say the weekend is a go though depending on where you live.

It's gonna be touch and go.
Bring a plank for the shoreline.
Watch out for soft spots in the middle areas.
If it's not safe it's not worth it !

Between your shiner traps getting run over earlier in the year and your ladder now. I'd say crime is moving in from the city.  Heck who am I kidding the hillbillies have always been worse than the thugs! Haha.

Might go out jigging for a bit today. Don't feel like going to get the plank so I may just pull the long jump.

Put em away or head north.Ice will be unsafe in a couple more days.Dont be stupid.Heading to NH this weekend.Then gonna get the trout rod ready then uncover the boat for the stripers.Be Safe not Stupid................ .....
