I have a chance to go to Dominican Republic Feb 12th - 22nd. But seeing that its right next to Haiti I'm having 2nd thoughts. Have not bought ticket yet but will shortly if decide to go. My wife is going with her sister and brother in law and parents. I really want to hit a couple trophy laker lakes and I like the cold over the heat so maybe this is my chance

The DR is completely seperated from Haiti, you want have any issues because the border is nearly impossible to go through. On a side note it is prime blue marlin season there! The DR waters are on classified no commercial fishing. The fishing is amazing! As you know pulling a nice 30 pound laker out of a whole is a rush but battling a 300 pound marlin in +30 with for 3 hours with no stop brewskies has got to be a close second

I just sent my wife to Mexico with her friends.Now I can go where I want when I want. Just this work thing could screw it up. Was out for a couple of hours today and nailed 4 pan fry rainbows. Had to keep them because they inhailed the hook.

Hey TGF if you did not go to D.R. Would wife let you get to keep the money for ticket? This question reminds me of when I questioned Hmmm? Do I reno the Kitchen or buy a jetboat?? Well to make a long story short, After she comes home from work and sees this jetboat sitting in the driveway and me with a sh-- eatin grin on my face.She put her hands on her hips and said IT DOESNT EVEN HAVE SEATS IN IT! It took awhile but she got over it. No need for a dog house I had a boat that went just about anywhere. So to answer your question. Its all up to you TGF. Me I am saveing my ticket money for a Queen Charlet trip end of July. Tight Lines dont lose sleep over it.

We don't share $$$. She has her account and I have mine. She makes more $$$ annually than I and I'm happy about that.
I buy what I want when it comes to fishing stuff. I would be buying my own ticket down there. My pull is a monster laker that keeps calling my name....maybe save me some hair

TGF, So I thought about it some more and I think your wife would have more fun with out us  I think you should head out fishing with TBone  I know this spot where the green hermit was seen last year. Every year at about this time there is a sighting in the area. I've got the 18-22 totally free! This leaves time to set a line for a day or two and have a base camp all inclusive to wait for the big one!

Looks like I'm off to Jamaica for that week. Just booked an all inclusive. Fly down on the 11th and have to overnight in Vancouver airport then fly out next morning. No motels availible anywhere around Vancouver because of the Olympics that I will be paying for for the rest of my life
I might even bring my rod and do some reef fishing from a kayak.
