All i've heard of ruth lake is people fishing it for pike and walleye in the summer never seen anyone fishing in the winter though. I don't know what you would catch in beaufort

Tell me and I'll forget. Show me and I'll remember some of it. Involve me and I will have lifetime knowledge.

i have never fished beaufort but have fished ruth. in the summer fishing can be alright for crappie, pike and eyes. we have never really done all that well in the winter but it is worth taking a look at since there is very little pressure with a chance at some nice fish. good luck!

Fished beaufort this summer, caught a few small pike and lots of bass, one or two smaller eyes as well.  Buck LaVassur was out there a few weeks ago and the guys he was with (I think they ran Heikki Lunta) were catching Rock Bass and crappie.  This summer we marked fish between the island and the mainland but who knows if they'd still be there, fish move hey?

thanks for the input, i appreciate it. I read a little about beaufort and heard you can have pretty good action with snake pike and good panfish, as well as an occasional eye but its nice to hear from others before heading to a lake ive never been to. thanks again
