Anyone fished Sturgeon this winter?

Friend from work has a cabin out there, they were out last weekend, very slow they said.  no fish, only skunks.

Very slow all last winter.
Some perch when you could find them, but usually take a pass on this one

 yea, shame.. used to love fishing sturgeon, as a kid by the culvert or docks and once boats were involved the gravel pits used to be madness for 3-6lb walleyes.  that was before area residents started shooting at boats...

 been skunked 4 years running out there now and would just go the extra distance to big river area.

 let us know how you do if you get out, would be great to hear of someone catching some fish out there.

nothig like fishing with a kevlar jacket on and 22 cal shots whizzing by....oh so peaceful!!!

Ive been out the last three days and only caught a cold, my permanent shack sits there as i live quite close. Bound and determined to find the walleye, seen a few pike and a ton of tiny perch but nothin wants to bite...
