New hub-style shanty question (shapell)
« on: Dec 20, 2009, 07:26 PM »
Evening- my Dad just bought me a Shappell 6 X 6 hub style shanty.  I've always used a 2 man Icecube to this point, and love it, but it's small to use with the kids.  THe Icecube uses adjustable straps  on each hub to attach to the ice anchors.  The new shappell is anchored through the skirt only.  My Icecube has been rock solid.  How will the shapell be only anchored through the skirt?  Would it be more stable if I were to put straps on the hubs like my Icecube and anchor it that way?

Thanks.  C.T.

I have a Shappell 6000 hub type shanty.  I use adjustable straps for the hubs on days with some wind.  I think you will have to get straps or the sides may push in on you with a strong wind.

Thanks.  I was thinking it works great on the icecube, so why not on the shappell?  Straps are cheap enough anyway.
