Cold weather for the wind river basin
« on: Dec 01, 2009, 11:47 AM »
I just looked at the wind river basin weather report for the week they are forecasting temps as low as -5 degrees for that area. I hate this transition period between hunting and waiting for ice. I cant even go sledding because there is not enough  snow to keep from tearing up your sled. I have gone thru my hard water gear several times checking and rechecking. The wife says I am worse than a little kid anticipating Santa I told her I have been ice fishing for more years than santa has been around. So maybe thing will take cover in short order now

hey rodrunner  I was on the walleyes forever website for Montana looking at Fort Peck Res. and it showed Decker at 2 degrees. That should start The Toungue River resivoir to cap.I have never ice fished taht but have fished it a lot from a boat in the spring on the way back from Fort Peck. I know they have problems with gas pockets on it. I may try that this year,do you have any input on the action for hard water there  ?
