Line For Jigging
« on: Nov 24, 2009, 07:21 AM »
I'm hoping that it's getting closer to "that time."

I was also hoping to get some feedback on what kind of line/leaders everyone uses on their jigging rods.

Anyone?

I prefer Power pro on my jigging rods...It seems to not ice up as much and of course is abrasion resistant.

I like P-line Floroclear,  blend of regular mono and fluorocarbon,  a lot of pros use it because it got low stretch, good knot strength and low visibility.  Major outlets like Cabelas and BassPro should carry it.

Has anyone ever tryed Berkley sensation clear. This summer I was smallmouth fishing with P-Line Flouroclear 12lb leader below my Power Pro Braid, it kept breaking, found a spool of Berkley Sensation somebody left behind in my Lodge, been using it ever since on open water for eyes and smallmouth! It's tough stuff and very clear. I'm giving it a try for steelhead first, then I'm going to try the 4lb. for the ice.

P line sucks you know what!

Berkly is good stuff but Gamma is the best leader line I have found by far!  ;D

You can't be serious!  Gamma Sucks!  The best flouro leader for big fish is Drennen, but it's exspensive and has too big a diameter for ice fishing!

Power Pro with a Berkley leader has worked well for me.
