Thanks to the generosity of a complete stranger on IS a couple years ago, I was able to score a bottle of the sweet, minty nectar of the ice gods. Not just a gimmick, the stuff was good.
After 2 seasons of hardwater fishing, I retired the bottle at our big ice outing in Feb.

So after a few beers, and nothing on the boob tube, that nagging voice in my head that will not drop the subject made me go Googling to see if anything changed in those 2 years. Why this stuff is like Coors in the 70's is beyond me. It's 2010 for Pete's sake!
After only a few minutes I found several online sites that sell Ice Hole Cherry, but not mint. Why? Dunno...

Either way, I was happy. But of course I had to check with that nagging voice in my head to make sure it was kosher with him too. And it was. Our buddy Frank has a tradition of bringing a bottle of blackberry brandy on the ice to share.

They make plum too? Oh man... Maybe that'll be next year. Or maybe they'll just start selling Ice Hole in any state where you can walk on a frozen lake.

Mint is the best, but they also make a butterscotch, and they just came out with an exotic fruit..  Havent tried that yet.

Nope. No distributors after a certain point east, hence the Coors reference. A friend of mine was in Plattsburgh last week and he didn't see any there either.

now you guys are just rubbing it in with the other flavors! I'm going to transfer to our Windsor, WI facility and be done with this horseplay. Yes, I would move 1/2 way across the country for more ice and better booze!

my local liquor store carries mint year round and after reading this talked to owner tonight and can get any flavor they make. Don't know how many that is or laws on shipping from Indiana to other places but can order it but only by the case.

We drank some Coor's and Fat Tire Ale too!! They make Ice Hole in Princeton MN, only about 20 miles south of me. It is the cheap stuff around here! Its still pretty good though. 8)

Nice!  Ice Hole is good stuff, every 'flavor' so far has been good.  I saw a new bottle at the bar the other night, it was pink and I think it was labeled "XXX".  Didn't try it, the barkeep said it was good mixed with other stuff though.  Good luck finding the stuff, like Skipper said it's pretty easy to find here!

Whoops! Either I got lucky and managed to get the last 2 bottles, or gave away a honey hole. No way I'm going to post a Liquor Store "X" report though.
It's actually a regular package store Hazzy. Give 'em a call and see when they are re-stocking. Then ask if they sell Mint/Plum/Tropical/XXX/??? flavors too.

Is this Ice hole stuff really that much better than mr. boston blackberry or Dr. McGillicuddy?  If so...I might have to try and find this stuff...is it smoother?  Better taste?  I am ALL ears on this.

I cant stand mint flavored anything, so I am not the guy to ask! The rest of the stuff seems to be less syrupy than regular shnapps. You know how some of that stuff can be like cough syrup.

much of the appeal of Ice Hole is the reference to ice fishing. It is not really top shelf stuff.

Funny, I only drink schnapps and "cough syrup" ice fishing Skipper. I'm a plain ol' beer guy 99% of the time. It's a tradition I guess. To share a nip or two with friends (at 7AM  ).

Everyone who sampled my bottle of IH mint liked it. It wasn't too sugary, and the mint wasn't overpowering. Even if it didn't say Ice Hole on the bottle, you couldn't do much better for 10 bucks. What scant liquor I actually drink is top shelf, life is too short to drink kerosene.
So who knows if it's really better than anything else. To me it's just a novelty to bring on the ice to celebrate the season and share with the crew.

And maybe, just maybe, the damn company will see these posts and start shipping to New England!

its weird how its only sold in certain places....you can walk into just about any liquor store in south dakota and its sittin there on the shelf like all the other bottles! i like the icehole schnapps better than the rest of them!

And I think I solved the mystery as to why I can't find the mint IH online. Alcohol content. Mint is 75 proof, cherry is 40 proof.

I don't get it either poot. I can buy booze from dozens of countries in my local package store, but not one 1200 miles away.

I put away about 3/4 of a bottle of Plum on friday night sitting around the campfire. Mmmmmm,good. Best part was the Gf handed it to me as I was getting in the truck to leave,cuz she thought Id like it while camping.

After reading this thread last night at work I was curious so I stopped by the liquor store this morning. They didn't have it in stock, but told me the distributor that carries it will be in next wensday.  They said they will order me a couple of bottles. I'm in southern Indiana.  Now I'm excited to try it.
