Ideas/Cool Tips for Permanents
« on: Nov 05, 2009, 06:38 PM »
So I'm in the planning stages of my first permanent ice house.  I've come across many problems that I'm sure others have encountered on this wondrous journey.  So if ya'll have any tips you've tried that worked well or didn't work well post it here.

Questions I have...

Would you recommend building the house within the wheels of the trailer or embedding the wheels within the house?

What are the advantages/disadvantages of an eaved/angled roof?

Can anyone give a site or explain the lowering mechanism on trailers that raises the wheels to lower the house?  Sounds confusing but if you've seen it you know what I mean and I'm not sure how it works, but I want it.

How much living (non-fishing dedicated) space should there be?  I know i'm sorry but I need to sleep, eat, deficate, and store stuff.

Bringing me too...how difficult are bathrooms to maintain in a permanent?  Should one be included?

Thanks for any help and hopefully we can get some cool ideas floating around.
