Smallest cusk ever

I seriously thought about slitting his belly and stuffing it back down the hole for bait. Cusk spawning just ended, so this guy has to be almost a year old. I can't believe it's still that small.

FYI.... Next time leave it on and use it for bait you may be supprised what you get.

can you use cusk in nh as bait, i had some really small ones in a bait trap a couple years ago, the consensus from me fish and game was 1 yes, 1 i dont know, and 1 its a sportfish and cant be used as bait.

if you catch it on a cusk line and leave it on , you have 24 hours to check it so if you get one on dont go pulling it out of the hole just pass it back down , chances are your bait is still in it lol
it might be against the law if they saw you pull it up, not relese it, and pass it back down but who knows , i would keep it in the hole though
