new liscense and smelt question

Hi neighboring anglers, from the U.P here. I have a question. I know your general fishing liscenses are good untill April first, same as ours. My question is: If I buy a 2009 liscence in march, is that 2009 liscense good for the remainder of this month also? I'm heading to Keyes lake friday in hopes of catching a meal of smelt. Any reports from there?

Awhile back i bought a great lakes trout stamp in march and it was good for the whole year...

Two fishes swimming side along and one looks at the other and tells him "I had a near death experiance today, I was swimming along and next thing I knew I was getting pulled down a tunnel with a bright light at the end, i got to the light, looked around and my friends and family were there.  And I saw jesus! i just read on the wdnr's website that all licences bought after march 3rd will be good for the 2009 season
