Was wondering why no one has posted anything on Seminoe.  Went there last Saturday 2 of us and my 4 year old had tip-ups out and we were jigging but never caught a fish.  Did have 3 fish on the vex that were probably walleye but they didn't bite. Anyone else tried this year? Ice was great 20+inches. We fished in the bow arm.

Two years ago I had my best day ever ice fishing at Seminoe.  I ran around trying to keep my tip-ups baited and and in the water for the first two hours. After that it slowed down then when I rigged down I found I had been robbed on four of my tip-ups - so I should have had an even better day if I'd been checkin my lines (they tired me out that day).  My two buddies set up on the near side of the cove and only had a few between them.  I haven't been there since, but I wish I had time to go there tomorrow instead of Pathfinder.  I'm not sure you can use minnows from Sloans (Alcova) at Seminoe Sloans minnows are listed as 5B -but the regs say you need 5C.  Does anyone know who/where sells 5C minnows?

Its basically impossible to find minners for seminoe/ mile unless you catch them yourself!

wyiceman,
Ill second that, two years ago me and two buddies knocked em dead.  All nice fish 17-19 inch rainbows, healthy fish.  The action was non stop all day in fact im not sure we ever got all our tip ups out because we had to keep going back and check flags.
Last year we went to the same area and couldnt catch a fish over 15 inches and the ones we did catch were real skinney and several were deformed, looked like they were right off the truck.  I actually caught the same nasty slimer that had a huge sore in its side three times in ten minutes.  Im not sure what happened to the nice fish out there but it seems to have declined since two years ago.

Minnows have never been an issue at Seminoe.  I have never needed them for the trout, but never gotten a walleye.  Feather jigs and mealworms seem to do the deal.  Had some amazing days out there in the last five years, but the fish have always been pretty skinny, some years skinnier than others.  But I have not fished it this year.
I release all trout...cause they taste that bad.

You're right minnows have become a problem. I heard through the grapevine that the store in Alcova had minnows for seminoe? We've been saining our own but was still pretty slow on the action last weekend and the weekend of Jan. 24. Fished Sunshine beach both weekends. It was 53 degrees in Rawlins today with strong winds and rain so I don't think the ice won't be around much longer.

The bait shop at Alcove (Sloans) is for area 5B, which is below Seminoe Dam, not above it.  Regs say U need 5C for Seminoe, so how to get minnows for Seminoe, I'm not sure.  Tried to get some statewide minnows at Curly's in Douglas last week so I could give Seminoe a try this year, but he said he ain't breaking any out til the ice is off glendo (said since the January thaw, not much fishing going on at Glendo - stayed the night down there myself last week and never saw another person)- guess he's thrown more out than sold the last few (statewide) batches he brought in.  Let me know if you find out any different, or where to get 5C minnows.  Also, does anyone else know of any other livebait dealers that sell statewide minnows?
