What is a good night?
« on: Feb 23, 2009, 10:42 PM »
What do you call a good night walleye fishing?  I've been going out about every day, or atleast every other, and some day's twice, and have been averaging one take home fish per day over the last week.  (i consider a take home walleye 17-24, everything else gets wet or goes to the taxi).  Some day's i'll get two, other days nothing.  Just curious as to what you consider a good night fishing.

dipping holes in the day time and catching a few pan fish, dipping holes after the sun goes down and catching a couple walleyes (don't matter if they are keepers or not) go home, kids are in bed, (kiss em good night) wife helps clean the fish, then go to bed and dip some more holes, thats a good night :) ;D don't happen a lot. so enjoy them when it does.

No walleye here but i do go out the occasional night for burbot...as long as i get one, even if its not a keeper, and i don't go home skunked i consider it a good night...sometimes even if i dont get any fish and i just end up getting out of the house its still a good enough to justify going again
Theres only 3 seasons..open water, hunting and icefishing!

one keeper per night is doing pretty good.  When the bite really gets good towards the end of the ice season you might expect to catch more, but one keeper per night trip is good, a consistant walleye bite is all you can ask for.

Well...I probably wouldn't DARE post it here on the shanty  ;D ;D ;D...LOL. But anyway, a good night is fishing with a good friend or loved one, catchin' some fish (big or small), enjoying some favorite snacks and good conversation and just clearing your head of all the crap that's going on in the insane world around us. Just my $.02..... ;)...WK
Give your son a fish, and he will eat for a day.....teach your son to fish and eventually he'll end up kicking your @ss every time you fish together!!!
