There a lot of things in the angler world that don't hold up to scientific scrutiny

And there are a lot of things in the Scientific Community that don't hold up in the anglers world that includes common sense.

Can you give me an example?

So ... I'm guessing that we are not going to get any facts about this "bright colored gills means good levels of dissolved oxygen in the water". ??

I would like to see some study or something to suggest this to be factual . I'm interested ... anything?

it's amazining people question everything, have all the answers say they have degrees in the field then want a study..... go to cornell university ,university of tampa also i believe did studys, want something easier to read  go to infisherman ,al linder  has been talking about effects oxygen depletion  on fish for years! or really want it easy go to a pet shop and ask them your fish have lost some color what could cause this!

I'm still waiting.  ;D

And Trapper2000 we're not talking about oxygen depletion. We are talking about oxygen levels effecting the coloration of fish. Allegedly higher oxygen levels produce brighter fish blah, blah, blah.

Oh an btw if your fish in the aquarium are not colored the way you like them? It's either not spawning season or it's diet!

And if education bothers you it's not my problem.  ;)

and the twist tax no sir again you mis quote! i just told you if you care to look at the studies use your vast knowledge to look  for them at the tampa unversity or cornell unversity, your going to find that oxygen levels ph levels food yes breeding all play a part in fish color you talk a good game but you like to mislead facts and mis quote. now instead of tring to find fault with everything some one says why don't you actually go and see the studies?

??? ??? ???

i meant the original fish could be a male longear sunfish.  they have similar marking in the face as a pumpkinseed and have a shorter and more horizontal lobe.

If not it is the cross that mayhave crossed back a time or.

I don't try and mislead or fault anyone. I just want something concrete vs. what someone thinks they have observed. My science training won't allow me to believe something just because someone says it's true. If you've seen these studies than you must have links. I'm waiting. That's all I'm asking for.

I believe the horse to be dead, I can't breathe underwater no matter how much oxygen is there, and the fish is different.

Mike

P.S. Please take you excrementing match to PM.
I don't like it here, so I will probably be here for a while.........
