To you guys fishing Great bay, i have to put my 2 cents in. get away from the group if you want to catch any smelt with success. instead of walking way over to the golf course put that effort into walking outside the group off Lenny's as far as you safely can and i bet you will do well, especially on the weekend when there is a lot of noise on the ice. trust me i used to walk by the "group" with my limit when they only had a few. plus you get more fishing time the further you go out ;D

It does. Cat food works well but the best seems to be a chum bag filled with native shrimp. If you are fishing outside step on the bag and dunk it like a tea bag in one of your holes. ;)

i allready ground it up  (maine shrimp) in the blender.  do you sell fresh shrimp? i have gotten them at the coop before but havent been there in years.
i heard they were going for 1.00 a lb boatside in maine?

where're you getting em? i usually get em off the boat at rye, havent had a chance to get over there this year...

it sure will. whats even better than shrimp is lobster bodys pushed into the mud at low tide, that will draw them in and hold them. most all fish markets have them pretty cheap.
do you want me to give you some good locations to catch some smelts too  ::)
