I've always wanted to target cats, well they found me this weekend.
Good thing too I've been catching nothing but ta-tor chips for two weeks

Nice pictures!  I have always wanted to target Cats too but I have not had the opportunity of having them find me.  Are there any expert catfishermen out there willing to give any advice on were to look for them and what to use as bait?

I have heard about people using cut up shiners as cut-bait for them through the ice.

Well we ended up cooking some the last two night... Really good eating.
We dipped them in melted butter coat them in Cajun spice and cooked out doors in a electric skillet as high as it would go.Spice  So hot it gave me the hick-ups .Toned it down the second night..

Fun fish to catch through the ice for sure.  I've always just lucked in to them also while fishing for panfish.  I did watch an In-Fisherman Ice guide about a month or so ago and they were using jigging spoons with a good size chunk of cut bait.  I've been wanting to give it a try but haven't had the chance to make it back home to my old cat hole.

Nice job on the cats! Did you catch these all out of the same hole?  If so, you musta found a wintering hole.  Alot of times, once you get on a nice hole like that you can catch them all day long!  Nice job!  Cold water cats will be some excellent cookin!

Yes all came out of one hole ...all but one fish.
Stomachs full of vegetation/grass/weeds.
How many cats can a three acre pond sustain?
