need vented gas caps for strilemaster 49cc auger

Just boughta used strikemaster power  auger need to know where i can get vented gas cap  tried home depot and ace harware no go  I need the kind with the little meatal knob  in it  Any suggestions

try a local sporting good store that's where I picked one up for my jiffy, both have Tecumseh motors I believe

when starting does that vent need to be open or closed?

i needs to be open when your running and closed when in tranporting

well if you run it with the vent closed it will stop running once the line is drained it becomes vapor locked
if you transport it with the vent opened the gas will leak out
