I have spent every fall for 15 years fishing for Walleyes. I cant get enough. I have talked with many people who have all different kinds of names for this fish. They include- Glass eyes, Glow eyes, Tint eyes, Shiney eyes, Susqy Samon - What other names come to mind?

raised up calling them pickerel. the only proper name is walleye, and they sure taste great.

Some areas they are called walleye pike! Here Ma. we call them walleye or just eyes.

On another post, I just refer to them as "darlin". They could also be called "delicious". When they aren't cooperating they become" bug eyed SOB's"

Some of the "oldtimers" here in NE Pa where I grew up called them yellow- bass.

We always used to call them pickerel but the name's not nearly as common these days. Same way deer were called "Jumpers".

I always thought a Walleye was...well...a Walleye, that is untill last year when an older guy at work called them a Walleyed Pike. I told him he was crazy...turns out I am crazy, as the book proved: Walleyed Pike
