Thinking about trying Wentworth Lake for the first time this year. Gonna target rainbows but not even sure where to start? Is access pretty good on this lake? Don't have a snowmobile so we'd be hoofin' it.

Any advice would be appreciated!

Good access is available off 109. Just south of the park is a boat launch that someone always plows, and by this time I'm sure lots of people are driving on. I usually just park on the ice by the launch and walk to where I'm going. If you're thinking about derby weekend you'll have plenty of company.

we used to fish wentworth for the derby. if you don't mind walking, walk out of that cove area off 109, and you will have the lake to yourself. theres some real nice islands out a ways to hide behind if the weather kicks up and watch out for the monster pickerel that are in there. every time we fish that place one of us gets a huge one, like 5 lbs big

Fished this lake a couple of times on foot & the snow depths made it tough. Any one know the walking conditions now?

the trout ishing there can be frustrating at times and real slow but somedays you can really nail them, no winning tagged trout 4 a long time out of there
