This gear was my fathers back in the 40's,I think. The trap is the best one of 5 . Still works well but they haven't been fishing in 40 years. The chisel was also his from the same era,I still use that every year. The chisel is curved and very sharp. It cuts a great hole.My father grew up in Portland,I don't know anything about the chisel and was wondering if any of you have ever seen one?

Wow, cool stuff, Jim. I've never seen a chisel like that one. Probably worth some money though.

I remember using a chisel like that when I was a kid, asked Dad if it was still around and he said he didn't think so.

I have one very similar to that. I have modified it a bit. Can't remember where I got it. The handle is broke right now. Works real well though.

Mine had two pieces of brass pipe for a handle, that was very soft, now it has a galvonized handle.
It doesn't have any markings on it,does yours? Do any of you have pictures of your vintage gear?
