waterproffing carhartts
« on: Dec 21, 2008, 04:10 PM »
Everytime I kneel on the snow or the ice for more than 30 seconds my carhatts coveralls get wet. What options do I have to waterproof my carhartts or at least make water resistance ???

you can try nikwax...you can get it at EMS, 10 bucks.  you apply it to the clothing and then put them in the wash..

I have used some tent waterproofing spray and it works very well just remember to re spray
every so often and when ever u wash em. Stay Dri is one Cabelas sells.
If you cant ride it, drink it or bring home it to bed, it aint worth having!

First of all, buy the Carharrt Arctic Extreme nylon bibs when these wear out. Mine are warm, dry, and nearly indestructible. :)

I have used Scotch Guard from 3M in the past and it worked very well with little odor.

A rubber knee pad may also help.

Do an internet search for "ice fishing chaps."  They are cheap and work pretty well.

I will 3rd this. I spray this liberally on my boot uppers every year and have never had wet feet. It water-proofs as it claims to. Got mine at Dick's Sporting Goods ( NY ).
