Propane or Gas ?
« on: Dec 26, 2008, 08:32 AM »
Thinking about buying a cook stove for on the ice. I use a portable shanty and cook outside most times. Recommendations for a propane or gas stove ??

Thanks in advance.          Salmon_Run

I would go with propane. Dealing with that liquid fuel is a PAIN!!! You also get is all over your fingers.... I'll stick with propane!!! Good luck!!

Go with propane.  Most of us have propane bottles around or maybe you could get a Y attachment to put on a bulk tank (11,20lb)  and run multiple things off of one tank.  That is what I do.  Run the heater and a small grill at the same time.

Coleman fuel will work better and it is cheaper but propane is easier to use.

I have a dual fuel single burner cook stove and a dual fuel lantern. (Dual fuel take coleman fuel or gasoline) Also have a coleman two burner stove that runs on propane. The propane stove works well and will run pretty long on a 1lb. can. For a stove I would say propane.

I just got a single burner propane for Christmas.  Used it yesterday to get the new smell burnt off and it was sure nice not to fill liquid fuel in the cold.  I'd have to say propane.

"Propane and propane accessories" Hank Hill.
Seriously though, you dont want fuel smell on your hands when fishing.
