where are they biting in omaha

gettin ready to venture out for first time this year, any suggestions, or tips as to where i can find a few fish? i was thinking about zorinsky. I've never tried chalco through the ice. gotta bring the kid with me so it should be pretty interesting to say the least.

to be honest with you I've only caught small gills and small crappie which if you find a school of them would still be fun with your kid and depending on what time of day your goin I would probably try 20 to 30 ft. west of the dam should be deeper and thats where the eyes should be in the day time

Go to Wehrspann!!!!  I've never been skunked there.  I just fished it, randomly picked a spot, sat down and fished.  Ended up being about ten feet of water and we really got into the gills.  Get yourself some little ice jigs, and put a waxworm or two on the hook, drop it to the bottom and jig it between the bottom and a foot off of the bottom.  As far as where to go, we went out from the boat ramp about forty feet and south about forty feet.  The best spots are on the east side of the lake though, (opposite the boat docks), follow the shack tracks.  Most folks fish the same areas out there, probably a lot of frozen up holes out now.  Good luck with your kids... Yeah I was talkin about Zorinsky haven't tried wersphan yet.
