Flasher interference?
« on: Dec 08, 2008, 02:55 PM »
Will there be a problem with 2 Marcum VX-1's in the same hut, besides each other?

Thanks in advance.

Yes, you'll get interference, but I think there is an interference rejection button on the VX-1 that works well.  I have a Vexilar and was fishing in the same shanty with another guy that had a VX-1.  At first we both had quite a bit of interference.  He hit his IR a few times and it cleared both of our screens.

Interference isn't much of an issue anymore.... Isn't technology great??

Wierd because I was fishing with my VX1 about 10-15ft from another guy who had a vexilar and I was still getting interference with my IR maxed out. Is there less interference between 2 marcum units?

I use a Lx-5. Want to get my sister a flasher this year for christmas. We fish side by side.
I'm between a Vx-1 pro or the hummingbird 35.
using the H-bird i wouldnt have to use my IR.
are there any compromises when using IR?
besides compatability, which would you choose
with price being equal and fishing shallow, only between
 8-20'?
        thanks

The ability to reject interference is based on different varying factors.

How close the transducers are together
Where the transducers are placed in relation to the water line/ice
Depth of water
Bottom Content
Gain Setting
Other flasher in close proximity

More times than not, it just takes fiddling around with them to get the right combination.

There are times however when all conditions come together that you just can't make it work. Usually this happens with deeper water and hard bottom
