Does Summit Lake have safe ice?

    Wondering if the ice is safe at Summit? I know the Norris boys are ITCHIN  to get out on the ice.

It was 53 degrees here yesterday,If I had to take a guess,Ide say Summit isnt safe by no means,give it 2-3 days of this frigid temps and they'll be on,

3 days ago it was basicly open water, at least at the boat ramp, very little forming in the very very backs of the bays. These next couple days of frigid temps should do wonders.
Is there any other major access points other than the boat ramp there by the main office(mesic rd), dont really know the lake very well.

ou can go into the campground and access some of the back bay there. Also, some people fish the bay to the north(?) of the campground. I like to park in the boat ramp area and stay to the left until really good ice is in. Be careful just off the pier at the campground. That is deep water and may not freeze very fast.

they are fishing the backs of the bays and getting some very god fish but thats about all i know, we are headed down there next friday
