i personally have never been but i've heard so much about it. I would love to go one day. next week end we (my cousin and I) want to go to either a stocked pond for trout or Twin Beaches for Perch. That'll be our first outing this season. anxious to know what will happen with the River as well. Shack is loaded and readcy for deployment!

I have two seasons ago.  I think it was in January.  My buddy dragged me out there because he always wanted to try it.  The parks officers didn't give us much hope with the "I don't think any will survive do to the low oxygen levels."  We made the trek with the equipment and setup as close to the aerator as safely you could and started drilling.  The stench of swamp water was hard to tolerate, and for someone who was dying to go fishing there, my buddy was the first to throw out the idea of packing up and heading it back to the river.  Things might be a lot different with it being first ice.  If you do go let us know how it went.  On a side note I have never fished there in the summer time so I don't even know how good it is there on a good day.
Let's see...Ice shack, auger, snowmobile, rods, flasher, heater...My Walleye averages out to be $67.83 Per Lbs.
