Ice Bridges

Does any one else build these ice bridges?? Relieving the pressure an sinking the ice to make more ice. When we get lots of snow it slows the ice from getting thick quick. We all know this. I picked up a buddy this morning to help build our ice Bridge we drilled holes 20 ft apart an 200 yards out an then turned an punched holes back 20 ft apart back.  When we were done there was at least 1 1/2" of water wet snow on top of 2"-3" of good ice. Tomorrow we are going back to fish our new ice. They make ice fast an keep you fishing. Next time we are using my trash pump an fire hose .  We could make ice 3ft+ of thick ice an fish till April..

Went back this morning When we started yesterday we had 2"-3" only today there was a solid 9" of good clear ice. No snow at all just ice. Every were else has snow in the lake yet. Besides having great ice we put over 100 perch in the ice in 1 1/2 hrs. That's Rip N Lips

My buddy lives on a golf course and he hoses down the pond he lives on whenever it snows. It turns the ice into glass, wich is great for his hockey games and it makes fishing a bit easier for me

Does this make safe ice?  I always though mixing slush and water made weaker ice.  Being from mass not sure this would work unless real cold.  if you try FNE, be careful.

When making a ice bridge cut holes with a buddy an check with a buddy to be safe. I never had a problem making good safe ice this way.  like i said there way 2"-3" of clear ice with 10" of new fluff snow on top. After all holes were cut there was 1 1/2" of wet snow when we left. Later that day it was all water over night it froze 9" 7"of solid clear ice an 2" of white snow ice on top. I'm sure different lakes an temps will make a diverts as to how the ice will turn out. Do it when you have very cold temps with lots of snow to sink the ice. Give it a full night to lock back up the edges are the last to lock tight after 2 days you wont have no problem.
