the ice was 7 inches on all the ponds we tried. only got one fish in 3 hours. it was a 14 inch speckeled. about 15-20 other anglers out at the same time.

Reynolds ponds are on my list to try...one day ;D. My friend was there I think last year and got skunked but he said it is a very hit or miss bunch of ponds.  Sounds like there was alot of guys out though. How were they doing good?

Went there last weekend for about half an hour to see how things were.  Last weekend was only an average of 2 - 2 1/2".  Glad there is more now.  Thanks for the update.

The best I ever did there wasn't even on a pond, just on the right when you come in from the East, I caught my biggest rainbow there, but for numbers I did best on pond nine.

I never look at the road number, I just turn before the brokenhead river (its really more of a creek right there)
Note: don't try to canoe the creek right there, it goes into a swamp and you'll end up lost. Funny story.

This made it into the free press, in the paper it kinda said I was the one who did this (as in my father in laws son in law, who would be me)

this was about 4 years ago, there were a couple local guys who decided to canoe the broken head from the highway, they put in at the highway and were going to see how far they could make it, and when they reached the road they would call on their cell to be picked up. I don't know how long they paddled, but they got in the swamp and thought they would just fight their way through it, but the swamp was too big and they got lost. It was a good thing they had their cell phone along, they called THEIR father in law and had them go to the road that travels west of the ponds from Ross and try shouting then they would just travel toward the sound, but that didn't work. So then the father in law went to my father in laws work and asked him to fly over the swamp and locate the guys, so my father in law went and found them, but the problem was how to direct them out. So he landed on the road to Ross to talk to the others and make a plan, right around then the RCMP showed up too and all the locals, they came up with the plan that a bunch of guys on ATVs would try and meet the canoeists taking their heading from my father in law who would fly over then and he would do the same with the canoeists, but he was short of fuel, the RCMP even offered to shut down the #1 so he could land and get fuel in Richer, but my father in law just went back to Landmark. The plan did work out though, it was just before dark when they reach each other.

I was alittle ticked though that the paper said I got lost, there goes my dream of being a guide.

I was told they had an empty can of bug spray at the end, who knows how full it was when they started.
I don't know if they ever went back for the canoe, but my father inlaw did fly them both over the area after.

I don't get lost, just a little turned around sometimes.
