« on: Nov 29, 2008, 01:36 PM »
got skunked at flat lake yesterday  >:(. chummed with herring oil, raw shrimp, and rice. maybe i ought to be chumming with salmon eggs instead of herring oil for trout. had one bite off the point and in another spot i was lowering a chunk of herring while something picked it up. surprised me so i didnt handle it very well ::). next time i go ill use a different chum.
summers over i finally get to do some fishin!

Use Roe if you have it. Loose eggs or better yet scraped skiens.

i think i will use roe and rice, cooked shrimp for char - rainbows and save the herring oil for the lakers and burbot. nother thing i forgot to mention is that as many houses that are around the lake and all the ice roads that are plowed you almost get a sense of trespassing and your areas of drilling is somewhat limited. theres still places to fish its just that the roads are so wide and theres so many of them it kinda limits your options. lots of sowmachiners on the lake too. i was the only one ice fishing that i could see.
summers over i finally get to do some fishin!
