I use the Mickey Mouse boots they are cheap and keep you very warm.  You can find them at army surplus stores.

I use Sorel Caribou (-40 degrees) boots with stabilicers.  Cold/wet feet = time to go home.

I agree with Micky boots.  Water proof, and very warm !!   They are a bit bulky But my toasty warm feet love them !!

I might have to try a pair, I just saw a sign in front of the army surplus store. Do you know  what they cost.

I'M not worried what they cost. I keep asking for the price but it really does not matter.what I'm interested in  is good boots. Warm and most important waterproof. I've spent money  before on good boots and they sucked. I'm basically taking a poll before I buy. I would love for one season to have warm  dry feet.

I paid like 30 or so dollars too on Ebay but make sure they are the "Original" ones.  I have black and they are toasty warm even though they don't look it.

Micky's, leave the laces loose so if you take a drink they kick off easy ;) but they are the warmest.

i like muck boots ,they are a closed cell neoprene boot . i have the tall ones
they fit soft and snug around the calf they are good for soft edges ,sunken planks
a foot of snow. i now have two sets of snow packs collecting dust.

I reccomend anything waterproof, insulated boot and comes up at least 5 inches above the ankle.

Last year I chose a very warm, waterproof boot, but they are very heavy... not too bad on the ice, but not versatile enough to use for hiking through the woods as they feel like lead weights...  So take it from me (and whoever else said it too), the extra money for lighter boots are worth it.
