Tip-ups
« on: Mar 27, 2008, 07:03 PM »
Tip-ups must have your name and address on them, but what if a friend is using one or two cause he didnt bring any or doesnt have any? Would I get in trouble for too many lines in the water even though he is using a couple of my extras?

what i would do is take a peice of paper with his name and addy and stuff and tape it over top of yours with packing tape i would think they would clearly be able to see it wasnt you using them at that point in time

In this state if a tipup is in attendance and being checked regularly meaning it is within eyesight then You do`nt have to have Your name, address on it.
If it is being left out for an extended period of time and then it must be checked every 24 hours minimum and must have Your name and address or license no. on it. :)

Just this winter I saw young guy ( maybe 20 )  and his younger friend ( maybe 10 or 12 )  using 4 tip -ups on Clear Lake he had no name or address on them. He was in attendace. When the DNR showed up he got a ticket for each tip-up, That's 4 tickets!
There is nothing in the world I'd rather do than ice fish!
