Marmish jigs
« on: Oct 28, 2008, 05:37 PM »
I would assume since they area site sponsor, they are a quality jig. I handled some at the ice show last year but didn't buy any :'( I placed an order last winter but the jigs were backordered  and I ended up cancelling the order. I would like to order some more and would like some honest feedback on which styles seem to work best for panfish.  How well does the palm rod & reel work? thanks for any feedback

See you on the frozen pond.......Mike

well Im a repeat offender..meaning I order some every season...for me the maggot jig is my most productive on panfish, although the ants, larve and garlic jigs are also fairly well used. I also own a few marmish rods that get a good workout each season on harder panfish bites...quality stuff, order early or you may be on the back order list again

The Marmish rods work well and provide a very direct feel to the jig/fish. Takes a couple tries to get used to setting the hook with the marmish rod. The spring bobber works great. You don't use the reel to reel the fish in but you can use the reel as a drag when fighting fish. Watch the Marmish videos if you havn't already. ;) My favorite Marmish Jig is the #1 "Marmish".

I got a few looks on the ice with my Marmish rod but I will take the stares along with all the fish it put on the ice.  VERY sensitive.  Great for shallower water.

Marmish jigs are quality.  The hooks are sharp and they work, especially in shallow, clear water.  I like the larve and the giant ant, though I have not tried the maggot.   The rods are fun toys to use in crowed venues to get some funny looks.

"Toys" come on ......they are weapons of mass destruction. ;)2

I like the green larva for bows around here.
