Farm & Fleet Polar Escape Magnum
« on: Dec 27, 2006, 03:13 PM »
I thought some of you guys would get a kick out of my new ice tent.  I saw it in the Farm & Fleet ad before Christmas with the name of North Ridge for $200.  I thought it looked familiar, so I started doing some digging and found that it looked just like the HT Enterprises Polar Escape Magnum.  I took a trip to the store and they had one set up, and I took one home.  While reading the instructions I even found mention of HT Ent. in parts, but are no HT markings on the tent itself.  It went together pretty well, and I've already added some LED rope lights.  I've also included a picture of how I'll be bringing power and a soft water fish finder out on the ice.  I haven't tried the fish finder aspect on the ice yet, but it's worth a shot.  I did some searching on the websites, but didn't find any like it.  Anyone else out there using one of these?

The Ice Tent

As a wind break.

The lights inside.

My power station and fish finder with no flash.  LED Lighting only.

And the inside of the box with 2 - 12AH Gel Cells.

Thanks for looking.

It's an HT. you can tell by the way the fabric is laced to the sled and by the chair lol. One thing about it, you should never have to worry about getting run over by someone with it being bright red lol.
One word of advice ditch the chair they suck. (I  personally think they do, but thats just me.  ) What I did with an old HT I had was mount a pedestal boat seat with a swivel and a quick release. Worked great. My fat ass just couldn't take that little miserable seat LOL .  ;D ;D ;D   Otherwise Ht makes a good shack, they just need to come up with a good seat like clam or frabile.
I've was on the ice and fishing Nov. 23rd 2008 and don't plan on stopping tell spring breakup 2009 !!!!

I have the escape magnum, Love the shanty, the chairs rivets fell out first trip out. Worthless chairs.....How are you getting it to the spot from the vehicle, becuase if there is any snow on the lake...Good Luck....Its like a plow, it glides like butter over the ice, but if there is more than 1 inch of snow, its a damn workout. Mine came with hitch for my ATV, but the ice being so thin this season I havent felt comfortable taking it out.....I am trying to get a hold of some of those Modular seating systems. Even though she is heavy, she will blow accross the ice at a high rate of speed if not tied down....I have no complaints for the $200 I spent on mine, Just trying to get it modified so it pulls better in the snow.

Yep!.....it's an HT allright....but brighter. watch those chairs if you weigh more than about 50lbs.(I had a bad experience with one of those)
Great shack for the money though, other than what Hollywood703 mentioned.

I have an idea, and maybe you guys owning one also might be able to give thoughs on this.....Im going to take a Kids roll up sled (the 1/8" plastic kind) and rivet it longways along the front of the sled giving the front end a more round and longer angled, or hook 2 of them halfway under the shanty sled side by side, and then it would be like pulling it on a tarp? would also wear down the sled and not the botton of the shanty. hopefully that makes sense in my dsecription....
