pike tamer

ok..i bought this rig for my tip up at gander mountain called  a pike tamer..its basically just two trebles one goes through the front of the minnow...the other in the back..i was going to put my tip up out with it...when my buddies dad said that it might be illegal...anyone know for sure...just a quick thought..before i have to rummage around my room for my fishing book..

This is right from the DNR website in ice fishing rules :

When ice fishing, no more than three lines may be used at any
one time. Each line may contain no more than two hooks (single,
double or treble) or two artificial baits.

Sounds like your tip up rig is well within the rules.

It sounds like a quick-strike rig- used with live bait even when musky fishing. Not only are they legal, they are preferred because they don't require the fish to literally swallow the hook down to its A**hole  :roflmao: in order to hook it. Good luck with it!
