Camp Joslin Tourney Results - Big Thank You to Ice Shanty Members!

The Camp Joslin Tourney was a huge success!  Thank you to all Ice Shanty members who particpated and donated $ and/or merchandise. The handcarved Surfster plug donated my Mugz was especially desired by the fisherman   Overall, we raised over $5000 and had over 100 fisherman . The Worcester Sharks mascot made the day fun for children and Roland James Patriots CB (played from '80-91) showed up to hand out prizes at the awards ceremony and sign autographs.

As for the fishing, flags were flying early to mid-morning at a very fast pace before action slowed considerably. Several notables were: 4 different fisherman were spooled by bass during the day , 3 horn pout were caught (nice size too), two 4lb 10 oz bass were caught within 3 minutes of each other on traps 80 feet apart , and plenty of nice perch were caught. I must say that HANDS DOWN, this was the best derby I have ever been too.  What a great day, the fish were biting!  My 3 year old son that you see with the shark had a blast.  He lasted out there from 8:30 to 1:30.  The presentaions after were a lot of fun.  I have NEVER seen so many prizes and free gifts handed out.  Congradulations on the 5K!  I will definitly be at this event next year and I encourage you all to go as it is for a great cause and these guys to an excellent job making sure that everyone is having fun, from the toddlers all the way up to that old wierd guy in the ski mask that you see.

Thanks for the well wishes guys - we had a blast taking care of you guys on Saturday with good customer service and lots of prizes . It is the fisherman and their generosity that make it special. For those of you who were there at the awards ceremony, if you could see the faces of the children in the front row as we gavce them rods and reels.... just priceless . Please come back next year and bring a friend of two. Together, we can make this the very best Tourney around! Tight lines!
