Bay of Quinte: A Point Anne Walleye Adventure
« on: Jan 28, 2008, 12:29 PM »
This morning we were fishing by ourselves, so we decided to check out Rush Bar with hopes of having enough ice to possibly walk on.  That theory was quickly changed and we turned around and drove to Point Anne.  Point Anne West's ice is very minimal, and with the warmer weather for the next two days, we may lose an inch that will render it unsafe for even walking until we have some colder temperatures.  There is a lot of current in that area at the moment, and it will quickly eat away at the ice.  When people fish with us, their safety is our top priority and even though we went searching on minimal ice today, we will not bring anyone with us in those areas.  The fish were very aggressive this morning for a very short window of time.

When you come up this weekend, to make the most of your trip, you will want to be in the prime location during this window, or you may miss out altogether.

We caught a fish on video this morning and will try to get that posted online soon.

Jeff
