wheres a good inland lake for whitefish ?

i want to try and zero in on some whitefish , ice fishing , years ago i was up cheboygan in the spring and caught 4 off the wall in the river down town , old indian lookin dude showed me how to catch them , man where they good eating , ive aways wanted to go back and try for them again but i have no time in the spring , like to find a spot to go ice fishing for them any info would be great .

Charlevoix has whitefish? I grew up on that lake on the south arm near East Jordan and never caught any or heard or seen any caught. And I fished every day as a kid and into my early 20's

aboslutely.  Theres a place that smokes them right on Lake Charlevoix in town there.  Plus they can get in from the big lake.

No I believe it... Just like crappie and bluegill....never caught those either in there....but my dad caught both before.....wish i would have known i would have tried to target them
