I just checked out the 15 day again and it looks like accuweather changed it a bit. Still well below freezing but not quite as cold. They'll probally change it again within the next few days, they always do...

How's the perch fishing been on Gratiot? Used to make an annual trip up there, but it's been a few years.

yeah it seems like they change there forecast every other day.  sometimes i hate checking it everyday, might get warmer and warmer everytime we check it.

well the cold temps were here today. fished teal lake with a few buddies and just about froze to death. VERY COLD sub zero wind chill and lots of snow, a good 14" of ice with lots of vehicles out there.  accuweather did change the forecast again. its looking cold, should be lots of new ice.

There's a decent amount of snow and slush on Gratiot.  Eagle and Copper Harbors have skimmed over.  Test the ice at Eagle and it's still only two - three thunks (with a light weight spud) thick at the launch.  Keweenaw Bay, from what I've been told (I went north this weekend), may or may not still have about 100 - 200 yards of ice at the head of the bay.  Hopefully this cold weather will stay with us and the winds die down.
