Power Bait shelf life?
« on: Feb 02, 2008, 05:31 PM »
Have a couple opened packages of Power Bait in my winter kit. They are a couple years old. Just wondering if anyone would know if this stuff is still effective or should I just chuck it. Guess I could use it and see if I get results but don't want to waste precious fishing time with second rate bait.

From what I've been told as long as the package stayed sealed, kept away from too warm temps, & no direct sunlight they can last a VERY long time. Have used some 2 years later with the same results as new; but mine were always stored in a place as cool as I could get in the house & avoid sunlight as much as possible.
Hope that helps.

I have quite a few packages of Power Bait (original) going on several years, and they work as good as ever. I did have one jar of Gulp go moldy after a couple of years though.

Thanks for the info guys. Stuff was stored innthe garage... think I'll just toss it. Never was a big fan of artificials.. guess that's why it's still kicking around... but lots of fishermen swear by the stuff.
