You could call Slones in Alcova, they usually know the happening.  I used to fish pathfinder alot when I lived in casper.  Trout fishing was always good where ever you were, but never caught any hawg eyes.  PC

At Pathfinder we would go to Bishops point over by the loading dock, there are some good rocky points in that area.  Most luck was at night and most eyes caught were small males.  PC

Not so much Pathfinder, but have heard of alot of nice eyes coming out of Alcova.  I never ice fished Alcova while I lived in Casper, the ice was always scetchy.  Sportmans Warehouse in Casper would also be a good place to get info about that area, they have an update board right inside as you walk in the store.  PC

I'm really trying to get out to Alcova or Pathfinder on Sunday.  Planning on getting the latest word on conditions at Sloan's when I buy minnows.  Maybe I'll have some good news to report on tomorrow night....

I looked at that board the other day, and as usual.  They say fishing is good everywhere. I have a question?  Is there even any water left in pathfinder. When I lived in rawlins, we fished it all winter. Haven't for a few years. Heard it was almost empty

Last time I was out there which was probably 2 years ago now, it was pretty dry, most of the fingers off of the main lake were only about 4 to 5' deep depending on where you were.  You would think the fishing would be more productive when there isn't much of an area for the fish to be.  But like I said before no matter where we fished we always caught trout.  PC

Well, the report from Sloan's was 6"  of ice at Alcova's Black Beach, open water between Okie Beach and the marina,  so I opted for Pathfinder.  I fished  below the campgrounds near the dam, and by below I mean really below.  Pathfinder is the lowest I have ever seen it.  The ice was 12" to 15" thick, but full of blow sand.

Two small 'bows jugging 10' deep in 15' of water.  They were released.  One flag all day on a tip-up.  The Hawg Derby is February 9th......

Thinking about trying Glendo next weekend.

I was afraid of that. had heard it was low, but wow, that sounds ridiculous.
