Loomis Lake
« on: Dec 26, 2007, 06:40 PM »
I fished loomis on Saturday the 22nd, got 19 gills in the bay by the park. 5 ft of water. got 3 flags  on  the tip-ups caught 2 small pike. The main lake ice was not safe.
If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles.

I have not been back since that day. But the gills always stay in the bay for a while during early ice.

I drove thru there tonight at about dark and there were two people with laterns let up in the bay by the boat launch.  I also drove around back and there were about 6 parties of people on the bay where they used to rent boats.  I here the crappie are decent back there and this has historically been a good crappie region.  There were also 5 guys on long at dark right in front of the boat launch.

Hey Doc, good to see you're still around. I've been fishing Loomis for a week now, catching alot of small crappies at night in "THE SPOT" nothing worth writing about though. Hope things change. C-ya. Crappie Rob.

I would never leave ice shanty but my office is out of control this time of year.  Most patients have their deductibles met and want last minute surgical procedures done so ice fishing time is limited.  My son has been out here a great deal in Shorewood and doing well for gills, bass and crappies.  I hit lake michigan yesterday for perch and got two limits with a friend.  After the 1st of the year, I will be drilling and hunting with everyone else I hope.  Happy New Year and keep the reports coming.
