Coys first pike on ice

Well we made it out yesterday in the rain and wind with me havin the full blown flu, guess its best to get it over with now since some ice is real sketchy.  We didnt have any problems once we where on the pond but getting on was a bit nerve racking for the boy!!  We ended up with some nice perch and he landed this nice pike on his new custom made jiggin rod, after that he wanted to dtay all day but I was dieng from this flu bug but I hung in untill he got to wet and I started thinking about getting off because the shore was beat up comin out.  Anyway we dont plan on fishing till Sunday so I can get rid of this flu but wanted to show you all his nice pike.  Hope to get out again Sunday, the elms had about 6 inches of good ice once you got out, I didnt check the shore today, this is my first time out of bed.  Enjoy the pics

looks like you better have your creepers on if going on the pond! Thats how it was when we went up there a couple years ago

yea it was a skating rink, we watched a guys shanty fly across about 200 yards but theres nothing I could do with creepers, the weather was horrid but the fishing was goood!!!  Coy just bugged getting on the ice so close to open water, wasnt using a board to get on, been there done that and fell thru before  :embarassed:
