I checked it yesterday out back by the tyngsboro town beach. Had 5 solid black inches with a couple inches of white. I didn't see anyone out there but my family lives there and my brother has been riding his sled out there for the past 2 weeks.

I agree 100 %. I've seen quite a few legal ones over the past 2 years through the ice and open water. Biggest I've seen so far was 7 lbs. I'm sure there have been bigger ones that I don't know about.

Where is the beach at Mascopic?

I've checked this lake out a few times last winter.....it looks like a Nascar race on the weekends with so many snowmobiles and atv's.

is the only access the boat ramp or is there another area?
