StrikeMaster Blades
« on: Dec 27, 2007, 02:12 PM »
I have a StrikeMaster Laser Mag Express Auger. I'm very happy with the weight, and overall performance but I'm very disappointed with the quality of the blades. Seems if I even look at them the wrong way they get dull. Costing me 131.87 a year for 2 sets of blades and 2 power points. I'm not applying any pressure while drilling. Am I alone on this or is anyone else experiencing a simular situation ?

sounds like you have the blades made in China.  I'd call StrikeMaster and complain and ask for the blades that are made in Sweden.  Hopefully they still have some of these.  Squeaky Wheel gets the Grease!

I believe the factory will sharpen and send back new sets in trade. 9fingers has done that on a few occasions.
Quit pushin' so hard and open yer beer with the proper tools.

Just got a Jiffy Legend XT 3.0 hp from Cabelas.  It took 45 minutes to properly tune it.  I bought it over the StrikeMaster cuz made in USA.  I don't know how it cuts yet, but I'll keep posting my thoughts on it.
Good luck to everyone on Tuesday.   ;D

the blades on my jiffy have only been replaced once in maybe 12 years! they are very easy to sharpen with a standard file. The newer style blades w/curves & angles prevent the average guy from sharpening and make it all much more expensive. Its like having a p/u truck from the 80's even I can fix it!!!
