Jiggin Jericho
« on: Dec 23, 2007, 07:13 PM »
I am going to Jericho with jig pole in hand on the 25th.  I am not sure what your plans are but I am on call. Has anyone caught anything beside pike up there? Is there perch and other stuff?

Rene, if my Jeep is not in the yard and you are not too busy swing up!

lots of good bass fishing in there too. I would bring more then a jigging rod though, that lake is notoriously slow. I did really well with smaller pike one day jigging a golden pimple a little to your left of that rocky point just as your coming out of the boat launch in about 7-10 foot of water.

throw some of those jiggin rod holders in front of the holes and get more lines out there man. I'd chum the heck outa the hole your jiggin too.

I fished that lake quite a few times last year, tried different bait, different depths, spots, everything, it just seems to be a slow lake, or slow year, cause everyone else I fished with wasnt getting much either.it always seemed to be a one fish a day kinda lake. there are some huge pike in there though.

neal........i know you caught a nice pike (I have the picture saved, because none of my friends believed me), but they are far and few between........that lake is a man made hole and thats about it........i grew up going there and the place is only good for nothing........a word of advice to the duck.......never go swimming there.......the place is loaded with leeches.....i mean leeches.....i use to work for the rec and my job was rowing the canoe out there and dropping in these huge salt blocks.........go to christine.........it so much better and such a better scene.......plus you can use your sleds to get to the top of the hill.........nice ride.........or go to south pond.........jericho is good for us, because it freezes over early and makes us feel like ice fishing is back, but the place stinks
when chuck norris played golf for money, chuck marked down a hole in zero every time, the golf pro said, "chuck: you can't score zero on a hole." Chuck norris turned towards the man and said, "I'm chuck norris, the man proceeded to pour gas over his body and set himself on fire because that would be less painful than getting roundhouse kicked by chuck norris....chuck norris roundhouse kicked him in the face anyways

I am planning on Southy to be my home water for the year. I did drive up there the other day and the National Forest Rec area is gated off with a no snowmobiling sign. I drove down the east side of the pond and it does not look good for parking. I might park at the rec area gate and ride the road down to the trail to get on.  I am excited to be close to lakers and now cusk too!
