Aqua vu Showdown vs other flashers

Has anyone used the new Aqua-vu Showdown, the unit with the vertical gray scale system? If so how does it compare to the other popular flashers like the vex?

From what I've read,  this year's model (the Showdown) compares pretty favorably with the Vex FL-8se.  It doesn't have quite enough features to put it in the same category as the Vex 12, 18, or 20 though.  This year's is much improved from last years from all reports in regard to the heating element and interference reduction.

Thxs for the reply. Seems like people that are using them love them other than some of the parts are made cheap.
