« on: Dec 03, 2007, 08:57 AM »
What we usually do,is get the boat out in these cold temps and try to locate the walleyes in deep water, this weekend we found a small pod of em,so this will be a good starting point when we get safe Ice,we ended up with 7 eyes and 1 was a keeper, heres Darrin with the walleye,a chunky 20"er

Swedish Pimple,

Are you stickly searching the deep water? Aren't alot of the fish in less than 9 ft. of water right now?
There is only one theory about angling in which I have perfect confidence, and this is that the two words, least appropriate to any statement, about it, are the words "always" and "never."

Nice work on the walleyes Jimmy. Keep tearing them up. Sounds like i will have to look into the deeper water more often.

I just bought an x135.  Haven't got to use it much yet.  Sure are a lot of different settings, it can be overwhelming.

What's the first bait you send down to those fish once you locate them this time of year?  Simple jig and minnow?

Something like a man-o-lure in the 1/2 to 3/4 oz size in either gold or silver usually, the wind is how we adjust the size, the more wind, the heavier we go,I try to stay as vertical as I can when doing this,I try not to drag it

GOOD TECHNIQUE AHY!!!
If people concentrated on the really important things in life, there'd be a shortage of fishing poles.
