atv question
« on: Mar 02, 2007, 01:24 PM »
i just finished my design of a wheeled drop down hut  8 x12  with a weight of 1500 lbs approximately ,maybe a little more once equipment loaded ( auger fishing gear etc)

question is which 4 wheel drive atv do you recommend for pulling across the ice ,i designed hut with rear door entrance for atv with flush mounted tyedowns in floor to transport to and from lake

i know everyone has there personal favorite brand and size ,and i have done some research of manufactures ,but they all don't list towing capabilities
lets hear your comments good and bad  i wanna buy once and be happy first time out
  thanks in advance

I would use a heavier atv for pulling your hut. Arctic Cat, Bombardier and Polaris are great work machines. I think the towing specs are around 1200 to 1300 lbs. You will probably want to install chains on the tires also. If you can post some pictures of your hut. I want to build a drop down utility trailer and would like ideas how to mount the wheel hub to the leaf spring.

check out this site i got a lot of good ideas how to do things from it   www.   fishhousesupply   .com
  .
they also sell all the stuff if you need it premade for you i just used the pictures for information and plan on building it myself during the summer months  just designed it and made material lists and have started to round up the materials at this piont

also www.hayfieldind.com have some prebuilt trailers and i understand the prices are reasonable.
