did you go to florida on vacation??  it was freezing all damn week only saturday got a little warm and there was 100 + vehicles out on quaboag on saturday.  we will be fishing well into march, mostlikely even the end of march.  And this year we have the best ice it is pure black and its from 12-15 inches thick, this weekend i drove out on quaboag, browning and south pond.  plenty of ice  everywhere in central mass.

we were there from 11 to 5 and we only got one pickeral and one other flag with nothing home i dont even know if i would go there again.   I dont know where the trout are in there during the winter because in august we went trolling for them 2 days in a row and the first day we caught 11 rainbows in 2 hours and the next day we caught 14 rainbows and 1 brown in 3 hours but they were all only 12-14 inches, but i have no clue where they go in the winter.  i know it wasnt the best time of the day but after some problems at another lake we left there and went to browning.

Ice is on its way out here in SE Mass.   Almost all ponds are seeing the west facing shorelines go.   My guess is that this is the last week for any kind of comfort level on a plymouth county pond.   It will quickly work west.

I think a lot of guys got to the stocked trout this year as there was open water when the truck arrived
