Fat Boy,
Ever get your camera going? If you ever need someone to drill holes for ya let me know. I live about 5 min from that lake. Spent the weekend shoveling snow at DCL and didn't get on the ice. Hope to get there this weekend. You fishin the tourney? I am committed on Sunday but hope to get some action on Sat. Good luck.

Does anyone know if the trout survive year-round in  the lake?

Guys, I moved these posts to the General Board so we can discuss stuff about the lake here and not clutter the lake report.

Hey Boyd.  Nope.  Had to send it back because the cable was defective.  I bought a new one (upgraded to the Scout 2 with DVR ;D) and sent the other one back for credit.  They didn't have any more of the one I got in stock, so I had to have one and that justified the upgrade to my wife  ;) ;D ::)

Perbonica, I'd be surprised if trout survived the summer here, but it's a deep lake, about 40' at full pool, so maybe.  I'll ask around and see if I can find out.

Kevin,
I'm thinking that good one to ask about trout survival on Green Brier would be John Mullican, MD DNR fisheries biologist, who happended to be icefishing there with us yesterday.  He has done electroshock fish surveys on that lake and would know the general makeup of the fish populations there.

I have been lookin hard on Ebay. There are some good deals for FL-18 and a Scout II. Bass Pro sells the Scout II for $199.00. I am really torn about which to buy the 18 would be faster but the camera is soo tempting. Now I need a good reason to justify buying both at least maybe she would watch the camera for me during soft water season.

Boyd, get the flasher first then save for the camera!  The flasher finds the fish faster, the camera will tell you what kind they are and what they are doing, show you the bottom, cover, etc.  Of course, if you can do both, by all means ;)
